Brake Drum Installation

1. Install the return spring: load the lower return spring on the brake drum, lift the brake shoe, install it on the lower support, install the wedge tension spring (note that the maximum allowable length is 113mm).

2. Install brake shoe and positioning pin: Install brake shoe positioning pin, pressure spring and washer.

3. Install the brake drum: Install the new brake drum on the vehicle, ensure that the brake drum is coaxial with the wheel, and fixed firmly.

4. Adjust the bearing preload: After the brake drum is installed, it is necessary to adjust the bearing preload to ensure that the bearing runs flexibly and is closely matched with the brake drum.

5. Step on the brake pedal: step on the brake pedal once, so that the brake shoe can be correctly in place, and check the gap between the brake drum and the brake shoe to ensure that the gap is normal.

1. Check the gap between the brake drum and the brake shoe: After installing the brake drum, it is necessary to ensure that the gap between the brake drum and the brake shoe is within the normal range. Normally, this gap should be about 0.6mm.

2. Brake system test: After the installation is completed, the brake system needs to be tested to ensure that the brake drum and brake shoes are well matched and the brake system works normally.

2. When installing the return spring and brake shoe, it is necessary to ensure that they are in the correct position and installed firmly.

3. When adjusting the bearing preload, it is necessary to operate in accordance with the regulations of the vehicle manufacturer to avoid being too tight or too loose, affecting the service life and braking performance of the bearing.
