The Preparatory Work Before Installing The Trailer Filter Is Indispensable.

Adequate pre-installation preparation is essential to ensure smooth installation and effective filtration:

  1. Prepare Tools: Based on the filter type, prepare applicable wrenches (e.g., socket wrenches, special filter wrenches), cleaning cloths, and a new filter element. For hydraulic and fuel filter elements, prepare matching sealant or sealing rings (some new filters come with pre-installed seals).
  2. Shut Down and Release Pressure: Turn off the trailer engine and close relevant system valves (fuel valves, hydraulic valves). Wait for system pressure to fully dissipate and fluid to cool down. This prevents high-pressure fluid ejection and personal injury during installation, as well as stops contaminants from entering the system under pressure.
  3. Clean the Mounting Area: Wipe the filter mounting base, including connectors and sealing ring contact surfaces, with a clean cloth to remove oil sludge and debris. This prevents impurities from entering the system during installation and ensures tight sealing at joints to eliminate leakage risks.

Below are the detailed installation steps for the two most common types: fuel filter elements and air filter elements.
