Type


Trailer brake pads are mainly classified into two types based on braking methods:

Electromagnetic brake pads
The braking force is generated through electromagnetic induction and is often used in the braking system of electric trailers. It responds quickly and is easy to maintain, but it relies on electricity.

Mechanical/hydraulic brake pads
The brake drum/disc is rubbed by mechanical lever or hydraulic pressure, which is commonly seen in heavy-duty trailers. Resistant to high temperatures, but requires regular maintenance.

 

Classified by material:

 

Semi-metallic brake pads: Made of a mixture of metal fibers, they are wear-resistant and have good heat dissipation, but may damage the brake discs.

Structure and Working Principle
