Definition:
A standard trailer clutch is a standardized mechanical device installed in the trailer drive system to achieve power transfer and cut-off between the engine (or power source) and the transmission device (such as a gearbox or drive shaft).
Functions:
Similar to the automobile clutch, the main role of the trailer clutch is to control the connection and separation between the power source and the transmission device in order to achieve the smooth start of the trailer, shifting and braking operations.
During the driving of the trailer, the driver can operate the clutch according to the need to cut off or transfer power to ensure the safe and smooth operation of the trailer.
Structure and composition
Clutch disc: located between the engine flywheel and the transmission device, it transmits power through friction.
Pressure disc and pressure disc spring: used to press the clutch disc to ensure the reliability of power transmission.
Separation mechanism: such as separation bearing, separation lever, etc., used to realize the separation operation of the clutch.
Control mechanism: such as clutch pedal, connecting rod, etc., for the driver to control the clutch separation and engagement.
Working principle
When the clutch is engaged, the pressure disc compacts the clutch disc under the action of the pressure disc spring, so that the power of the engine flywheel is transmitted to the transmission device through the clutch disc.
When the clutch needs to be separated, the driver presses down the clutch pedal, makes the separation mechanism work through the control mechanism, and pushes the pressure plate to move backward, so as to release the pressing effect on the clutch plate and achieve the power cut off.
